Walk-on Arnold living her dream

Freshman guard Tara Arnold has seen only four minutes of action for the Western Kentucky women’s basketball team this season, spending most of the time at the end of the bench with her warm-up jersey still on.

But all things considered, Arnold wouldn’t have it any other way.

Despite offers from Transylvania, Asbury College and some other NAIA schools, the Western Hills High School product opted instead to pay her way to Western Kentucky – fulfilling a dream of being a Lady Topper.

The decision has paid off for Arnold, who made WKU as a walk-on and will be on the bench again today when the Lady Toppers host New Orleans at 1 p.m. at E.A. Diddle Arena.
