WNBA: Sun earn third pick in 2010 Draft

As the injuries piled on last season, the Connecticut Sun couldn’t believe their luck at times. It turned in their favor Thursday.

Participating in the WNBA Draft Lottery for the first time since coming to Connecticut, the Sun earned the third overall pick in the 2010 draft, the highest draft pick in franchise history.

Minnesota, which had the lottery’s best chances of earning the top pick (428 of 1,000) with two sets of odds, earned the No. 1 overall pick, followed by Sacramento (420 of 1,000).
