Washington sophomore Liz Lay out for season
Washington sophomore F Liz Lay (pictured right) will undergo surgery on her knee in January due to a severe case of patella tendinitis, the school announced tonight. It will be her second knee surgery, undergoing a right knee procedure prior to enrolling at UW.
Lay appeared in 20 games last season as she rehabilitated from the surgery. She said she worked hard during the offseason in her native Oklahoma City to drop about 25-pounds and return stronger. However when increasing her training schedule with the team, Washington coach Tia Jackson said Lay began to feel the tendinitis.
