Nneka and Kelsey Helped Team USA Win Gold
Bangkok, Thailand — I want to congratulate Team USA’s U19 Women’s Team for capturing the gold medal in the 2009 FIBA U19 World Championships with a solid 87 to 71 victory over Spain.
Two players on the U19 USA squad hail from the Houston area — Nnemkadi (Nneka) Ogwumike (Stanford University, Cy Fair HS) and Kelsey Bone (University of South Carolina, Dulles HS) — played key roles in the gold medal game.
