Loy Norrix graduate Cetera Washington scores points for Spartans with her defense

Cetera Washington’s name wasn’t in the headlines during the Michigan State University women’s basketball team’s run to the NCAA tournament’s Sweet 16, but she sure drew the attention of her coach.

Spartans bench boss Suzy Merchant said Washington, a Loy Norrix High School product, took her game to another level during MSU’s tournament run last season — especially in an upset of perennial powerhouse Duke.
