BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Southern University women's basketball team captured the 2010 Farmers Insurance Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament championship with a 60-47 defeat over Alabama State. This is the first time since the 2001-02 season that SU has won the regular season title, the number one seed in the tournament and the tournament championship. With the win head coach Sandy Pugh and the Blue and Gold advance to their fourth NCAA tournament.
